A couple of weeks ago we received notice that our trash service was only going to be able to pick up totes on trash day. Reason being, people in previous weeks had inundated the trucks with mountains of trash by their curbside. With a shelter-in-place order in effect, everyone was cleaning their house and taking out more trash than the garbage company could keep up with.

Living the Gospel
“Just because someone shows up to a church building on a Sunday morning, and has done so for the past twenty years, does not mean they have experienced the gospel,” the Holy Spirit shared with me as I put together a message for our Great Awakening series. In order to feel compelled to share the gospel, the Good News of Jesus, people must first experience the gospel.
The Gospel
“You don’t know what the gospel is?” the Holy Spirit began impressing upon my heart. “What do you mean?” I asked. “I spent my whole life in church, I took Bible and theology classes in a university setting, and have completed work toward a Masters of Divinity. How could I not know the Gospel?”
Life Purpose
Under the Christmas tree sat a beautifully wrapped box, waiting to be opened. I thought I knew what was inside, but I wouldn’t know for sure until I tore through the wrapping paper to find out. Sure enough, when I opened the box, I found a new backpack, one to replace the NorthFace backpack I had used the previous 14 years, and taken all over the world.
